There are three general fig flavor profiles: berry, sugar, and honey. While some varieties fit a specific profile exactly, many other varieties are a combination of two of those flavors.

This diagram is simplified to make the flavor profiles easy to understand, but fig flavors can be quite complex. Sugar-berry figs like LSU Tiger for example, will have a combination of both sugar and berry flavors.

Dark-skinned figs will usually either have a sugar or berry flavor profile, while light-skinned figs will usually have a berry or honey flavor profile.
